The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has achieved excellence in meeting the requirements of the Guidelines for the Localization of Operation and Maintenance Contracts in Public Entities, issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, reaching a localization rate of 80%. This accomplishment places TVTC among the top six government entities in this area.
Dr. Adel bin Hamad Al-Zunaidi, Deputy Governor for Training, affirmed the Corporation’s commitment to supporting all national programs and initiatives aimed at achieving their goals, including the Localization of Operation and Maintenance Contracts initiative. He highlighted the procedures and requirements outlined in the regulatory guide for this initiative, which ensure work quality and target achievement. Among these measures is the development of a plan to localize operation and maintenance contracts, including data registration in the Asset and Facilities Management Platform. TVTC has recorded 74 contracts in the platform, all issued with localization requirements and advertised on the National Employment Platform (Jadarat).
Dr. Al-Zunaidi added that the Corporation’s efforts to achieve the initiative’s targets go beyond merely signing contracts with companies that meet the required localization standards. TVTC also focuses on preparing and training national cadres through specialized training programs in facility management and public services within the operation and maintenance sector. These programs aim to qualify, develop, and empower Saudi nationals with job opportunities while supporting the achievement of the sector’s localization goals.
It is noteworthy that the Localization of Operation and Maintenance Contracts initiative is a national initiative that seeks to increase the employment rate of Saudi citizens in government operation and maintenance contracts. The initiative requires companies to raise Saudization levels and provide suitable job opportunities for citizens in various fields, including facility maintenance, cleaning, and information technology, with the participation of multiple government entities.
