Announcing the establishment of the “Red Sea National Academy” to support the tourism sector in the Kingdom

On the sidelines of the Human Capacity Initiative Conference, which was held in Riyadh under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the establishment of the “Red Sea National Academy” was announced with the aim of preparing and implementing joint programs between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, The Colleges of Excellence Company and the Red Sea International Company, in order to qualify trainees in several specializations in line with the needs of the labor market in the region, in addition to qualifying local human cadres with the skills required to enable the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
  
The terms of the agreement included establishing and operating the “Red Sea National Academy” in Al-Wajh, and developing joint training programs that meet the needs of the labor market. The academy will also contribute to reaching the goal of training and qualifying 10,000 trainees by 2030, which will contribute to providing job opportunities for Saudi youth and enabling them to work in various fields in the field of hospitality, tourism, hotel and other specializations related to empowering sectors that create more qualified trainees to serve the Saudi tourism market.
 
The signing of the agreement was patronized by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Yousef Al-Benyan; and the agreement was signed by the Deputy Governor for Planning and Business Development at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Ms. Reem Al-Muqbel, the CEO of the Colleges of Excellence Company, Engineer Ayman Al Abdullah, and the CEO of “Red Sea International”, Mr. John Pagano.
 
TVTC Deputy Governor for Planning and Business Development, Ms. Reem Al-Muqbel, stressed the Corporation’s commitment to its role in developing national human resources through various training programs and building strategic partnerships with the private sector in a way that contributes to meeting the labor market’s needs for qualified human resources, noting that The Red Sea National Academy will represent a qualitative addition to the education and training system in the Kingdom, and will contribute significantly to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
  
The CEO of the Colleges of Excellence Company, Engineer Ayman Al Abdullah, expressed his confidence in the academy’s ability to supply the tourism sector with qualified Saudi cadres, and its contribution to creating a stimulating training environment that enhances the creative and innovative skills of the trainees, thus becoming a leading center for education and training in the field of tourism, which will enhance the Kingdom’s position as an international tourism destination, noting that the academy is part of the strategic partnership institutes in the Kingdom, which aim to provide high-quality training programs that meet the needs of the changing labor market.
 
For his part, Mr. John Pagano, CEO of the Red Sea International, said that the Kingdom is at the forefront of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world, and as the Red Sea International is one of the major projects that will achieve the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, it is leading this field. Today we have two resorts available, and at the end of the year we will open four more, in addition to 19 resorts next year in the “Red Sea” and “Amala” destinations, so the “Red Sea National Academy” will ensure that a group of Saudi talents are excellently trained and qualified to work in the promising tourist destinations.
 
The establishment of the “Red Sea National Academy” represents an important step towards developing the tourism sector in the Kingdom and supporting Saudi Vision 2030. It will provide a set of high-quality training programs to meet the needs of the labor market and provide promising career opportunities for Saudi young men and women.
