The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) announced that the number of male and female trainees with disabilities enrolled in its training programs at technical colleges and industrial institutes for the 1446 AH academic year reached 2,105.

The TVTC places great importance on this group, providing training that conforms to the nature and level of their disability to ensure it does not hinder their acquisition of skills and development of their personal abilities, thus guaranteeing them equal opportunities with their peers.

The TVTC's efforts in this area are diverse, beginning with the establishment of a department dedicated to trainees with disabilities and the training programs offered to them: the Special Technology Department. Training programs within the Special Technology Department have also been designed for the specializations of Office Applications and Computer Maintenance for the hearing impaired.

In addition, trainees with other types of disabilities have been given the opportunity to enroll in all programs at technical colleges and secondary industrial institutes, in accordance with their specific disabilities. An electronic link has been established with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to determine the type of disability, thus facilitating the admission process at these institutions. The Corporation also supports their enrollment in suitable training programs at international colleges and provides financial incentives based on the level of their disability.

In this context, the Deputy Governor for Training, Dr. Adel Al-Zunaidi, stated: "The Corporation's commitment to training people with disabilities stems from our deep belief in their abilities and contributions to society. We strive to design comprehensive and precise training programs to meet the needs of this group, and we work diligently to remove any obstacles that may hinder their educational journey."

It is worth noting that TVTC seeks to contribute to unifying efforts in training this segment of society by holding agreements with the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities and communicating with relevant entities. This aims to research, study, and design training programs that coincides with this precious group, and equipping them with the necessary skills to contribute to the comprehensive development taking place in the Kingdom.
