Technical Training Qualifies More Than 690 Trainees with Disabilities

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation clarified that the number of trainees with disabilities currently enrolled in training programs in technical colleges, industrial, architecture and construction secondary institutes is 691 trainees.

 

The official spokesman for the corporation, Fahd Al-Otaibi, confirmed that during the past year 1445 AH, the number of graduates with disabilities reached (355) graduates, explaining that the Corporation is working to expand the provision of training programs for people with disabilities in colleges and institutes in a manner that is consistent with the nature and level of disability, with the aim of providing them with technical and professional skills.

 

Al-Otaibi pointed out that the Corporation's efforts in this regard are diverse, starting with the establishment of a department concerned with trainees from the category of people with disabilities and the training programs provided to them, which is the Special Technology Department; in addition to designing training programs in the Special Technology Department in several specializations, most notably: office applications, and computer maintenance for the hearing impaired, in order to serve deaf and hard-of-hearing trainees in 5 technical colleges, with the participation of sign language interpreters. In addition, TVTC provides the opportunity for trainees with other types of disabilities to join all programs of technical colleges and secondary industrial institutes in a manner consistent with the type of disability.

 

The official spokesman added that the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation aims to develop the training programs provided to people with disabilities during the next stage in coordination with other relevant authorities, through research, study and design of training programs that are appropriate for people with disabilities
