
MEED of the Middle East, which is the main economic information supplier in the Middle East, has on Tuesday held a ceremony for awarding prizes of the first session of High Quality Projects Award. Usually during the ceremony organizations from various parts of the Gulf Region compete for eight categories of these awards.
This year the ceremony was held at Ritz Carlton Hotel Dubai where the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation was awarded a prize for the Social Projects Category. The winning project was a project by Madinah College of Technology.
The Deputy Governor for Supporting Services Dr. Fahd Al-Tuwaijiri disclosed that the TVTC gives projects the utmost care and that the Corporation is now planning more than one project on the various parts of the Kingdom.
The President of MEED Awards Edmund Sullivan said “ all the 32 nominated projects were subjected to strict selection standards” adding that all the categories have indicated maturity, where the best 10 projects which won prizes were selected”.
The award aims at promoting the values of integrity and it selected best practices across the Arabian Gulf in the field of project management, as well as to highlight the unique constructions.
It shall be noted that the Saudi Consul General in Dubai Emad Madani has attended the Awards ceremony. These awards were supported by Engineering societies of the Gulf Region namely Bahraini Society of Engineers, Kuwaiti Society of Engineers, Omani Society of Engineers, Qatari Society of Engineers, Saudi Council of Engineers and the Society of Engineers in the UAE.
