
The activities of the 6th Saudi Technical Conference and Exhibition which was organized by the Technical and Vocational training Corporation has take off today Sunday 24th April. The conference was under the auspices of the Crown Prince, deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector general Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, at King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh.
The Minister of labor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Adel bin Mohammed Faqih who on behalf of the Crown Prince addressed the audience saying that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing countries with respect to population. For this reason the government has established a Human Resources Development Fund aimed at taking care of recruitment of technically and vocationally skilled national manpower at the private sector.
Minister of Labor added that the development witnessed by the technical training sector in the kingdom especially the widespread of training institutes, colleges of technology and girls’ higher technical institutes has elevated the technical training sector to an unprecedented level to become one of the most important arms for national developments and Saudization of jobs in the private sector.
“The Kingdom is very keen in offering employment opportunities through offering training to its youth. This is because good training is directly responsible for employment.” The Minister concluded.
In his Speech, the Governor of Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis said that the conference comes as an effective means of transfer of technology and raising the efficiency of training in our beloved country.

The Governor added that, it is by the help of the Almighty God and the support of the wise Leadership of the Kingdom for the development projects that a big stride and development were achieved.
“This big technical event in its 6th issue is very important considering the time when the concept of technical training is being enhanced to respond to the modern challenge. Cooperation with the private sector has positive results that contributed to bridging the gap between training and employment leading to an increased coordination between the two sectors”. Dr. Al-Ghafis concluded.
On the same development, the former United Kingdom Minster Mr. Charles Clark; thanked the kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation for invitation of global scholars to attend and participate in this important event.
“We have come from various countries to discuss problems that face technical and vocational training and exchange views, ideas and visions about the variables affecting all stages of education and I hope that this conference will be a positive means of solving problems facing training in general.” The former Minister added.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the Minister honored the sponsors of the conference, these are: Saudi ARAMCO, Saudi bin Laden Group, Saudi Oger Company, DIDACTA International and the German GIZ Company.
