Minister of Education, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, yesterday visited the headquarters of the Technical Scout Project which was implemented by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation as part of its participation in the National Day celebrations and the 2nd World Peace Camp.
The event was hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and organized by the Saudi Scout Association.
H.E. inaugurated the project of Peace Messengers Camp, which is one of the most important educational programs implemented by the Scouts Association to coincide with the Saudi National Day and promote the status of scouts in the hearts of the emerging youth to make them more useful and influential in their communities and to bring the message of Islam to the world.
The Governor of the TVTC pointed out that the Camp included preparations of the TVTC to take part in the celebrations of the Kingdom on the occasion of its 81st anniversary since its unification under the Leadership of its King Founder late King Abdul Aziz in addition to launching Thol Houses Voluntary Maintenance Program to provide house repair and maintenance services to the poor people at Thol city.
He noted that the great message to the humanity addressed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has associated voluntary works with dialogue, stressing that scouts all over the world interact with this message, adding that in spite of the scouts' affiliations to different cultures they are connected by voluntary works and dialogue called for by Islam.
