The Governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis opened here yesterday the 12th Forum of Principals of Vocational, Military, Industrial and Architectural Institutes. The forum which was attended by about 72 participants was hosted by Hail Technical and Vocational Training Council.

His Excellency the Governor of the TVTC addressed the Forum and urged the principals to adopt initiatives which serve the country and the trainees and to also take advantage of the international experience which they gained from their external visits and studies and inculcate these experiences into trainers.

His Excellency added that the training institutions should not be constant or stagnant but should continuously move to keep in pace with new developments in training. Dr. Ali stressed the need for institutes to open their doors for the community and he addressed the audience saying “You have the full chance to be innovative and serve your country”. At the end, the Governor honored the outgoing principals.

It should be noted that the first day of the forum discussed “Self evaluation standards at training institutions and also discussed projects, maintenance and vocational safety: “Hopes and Aspirations”. The forum also discussed development programs and their effects on the training process” and “Work groups and the role of those who got them’ in addition to discussing “the vocational competencies required for the training staff” a Trainee perspective.

On Wednesday issues and topics to be discussed are, Imprest and their procedures, activity and how to activate it under the present training system, reviewing the experience of Makkah Council during Jeddah floods disaster. And the experience of Unaizah Council and last but not the least the forum will discuss the Institutes expectations for adding new specializations to meet the need of the labor market. An open meeting will be held by the Deputy Governor for Training Dr. Hamad Al-Aqla, and on Wednesday recommendations will be adopted as the concluding part of the Forum.
