The Governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis met here Monday with the Executive Director of General Motors for Customer Service –Middle East-. The meeting which was attended by senior officials from both sides had discussed cooperation between the two sides in the field of joint training of national manpower in car maintenance, customer service and spare parts sales.

The Governor stressed the keenness of the TVTC in achieving strategic partnership with the private sector in order to train national cadre to meet the needs of the local labor market. Dr. Al-Ghafis added that the TVTC has set national vocational standards for more than 270 professions needed by the labor market in the Kingdom. At the conclusion of his statement the Governor called upon businessmen and investors in the Kingdom to enter into partnerships with his Corporation to implement training programs in professions needed by their sectors thereby achieving the Kingdom’s development objectives.

It shall be noted that the joint training program with the GM since its inception in the year 2006, has graduated more than 700 Saudi youths.
