Admission to Industrial Secondary Institutes and Advanced Construction and Architecture Secondary Institutes will commence today Saturday 2nd July 2011.
The Governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation dr. Ali bin Nasser Al Ghafis disclosed that his Corporation has found new specialties for the purpose of admitting the largest number of students in order to keep pace with the technical development in the Kingdom and cope with the social change and also to meet the growing awareness in the importance of specialization in technology fields.
The Governor said that the TVTC aims at providing qualitative and efficient training programs in its training institutions all over the Kingdom to enable graduates who obtained Diploma Certificates to get employment opportunities or enable them to establish their own free businesses.
It shall be noted that the industrial Secondary Institutes train in the specialties of operating digital control devices (CNC), industrial equipment and tolls maintenance, production equipment maintenance, foundry, engines and vehicles, Computer (Maintenance and networks), electronics, metal sheets, heavy equipment, welding and electricity. While the Advanced Construction and Architecture Secondary Institutes train on civil construction, and architectural construction, survey and AutoCAD.
The Governor added that the training year will be divided into three semesters and training in each semester will last for 13 weeks. The trainer will be trained for 30 hours weekly. There will be one week holidays in each semester.
Trainees according to Dr. Ali Al Ghafis will be receiving SR 800 as monthly remuneration. At the end of the course, each trainee will obtain a Diploma Certificate of the Industrial Secondary Institutes or Diploma Certificate of the Advanced Construction and Architecture Secondary Institutes.
These Diploma Certificates are classified by the Ministry of Civil Service on Grade 5 (first class) and graduates will be allowed to pursue their higher education.
The main requirements of admission to Industrial Secondary Institutes and Advanced Construction & Architecture Secondary Institutes are that the candidates must have completed first or second year secondary schools or have obtained intermediate school certificates.
He/ she must be medically fit and must be full time student trainee and must not have had a certificate in technical or vocational training or any other qualification equal to or higher than the certificate applied for. Upon graduation his age should not be less than seventeen years of age.
